" Real life situations have suddenly created needs for solutions to remove crude oil from water since the 2010 Oil Spill in the Gulf of Mexico. Oil removal is difficult because the concentration of the oil is very high and has already begun affecting the environment as well as dissolving in the water. Many methods have been developed, including breaking down the substance by applying dispersants, a chemical containing surfactants, to dissolve the oil into the water, thus, lowering the concentration and detoxifying the water. There are four types of surfactants: Anionic surfactants, Cationic surfactants, Non-ionic surfactants, and Amphoteric/Zwitterionic surfactants. This experiment will test each type of surfactant, to inquire the result of which type will affect the decrease in the percentage of oil most. If dispersants containing Anionic surfactants, Cationic surfactants, Non-ionic surfactants, or Amphoteric/Zwitterionic surfactants were applied to salt water with 5% oil, then the dispersant containing Cationic surfactants will have the largest impact on the breakdown of the oil. Cationic surfactants are most likely to affect the oil the most because they are found in specific cleaning chemicals to remove oil stains."

A long time ago, in a land far, far away....

back in the days of 6th grade Murphy, there was a kid playing with a rubix cube after school. Waiting for his parents to pick him up. I saw him and I was amazed by his rubix skills, so he tried teaching me how to solve it. I accidentally broke it. Sokay, cause it was a cheap $2 one:)

Today, (well really, yesterday...) after school, I walked out, trying to solve my rubix cube, however I could only do one face...I saw that kid again for the first time in like three years and he did my cube. breaking it. but sokay, cause it was a cheap $2 one:)

I was supposed to have Step Team practice today, but I can't attend Wednesday practices, so I can be in Step Team at all! D': I'm going to join William's DFC on Wednesdays, that's why, and they have a more variety of dance. The thing I'm worrying about is that it won't work out for me. I heard you have to have partners for the PESH DFC. Anne is a lonely person, just so you know. Anne got no partners.

holy crap, The world is going to end soon furreals, now! Abercrombie and Fitch are having this huge sale where this freaking $40 cute dress is on sale for $15. if it's still there tomorrow, i'll probably go get it:) no joke. it's going to be mine. Anyways, their sale is including $12 shorts (for the summer, silly) and $7 shirts. I am going to die of disbelief. Normally, when something in that store is on sale, it's on sale for $40. this is the store i completely recommend looking into this Thanksgiving holiday:)
