I love this quote because it's so...raw? I can't really explain it in few words. We can't afford to hate. We have so much war going around in the world about poverty and how wealth and justice is distributed, yet, you hate this other peson because they merely stole your ex? Merely won against you in a game? Merely because they're really strict? The first scenario explains this quote best. Love is amazing, but love is not worth the hate.
